Why Accounting?
I joined Janney & Associates in October 2019 as a Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist. I love helping people any way I can, and I enjoy working with numbers. I believe that both of those traits are a big part of working at an accounting firm. I also love learning new things, which is also good because the rules are always changing!
What experience do you have?
I have many years of experience as a Payroll Specialist, Bookkeeper, and Office Manager. I’ve completed bookkeeping courses at Brook Haven College and have certifications in payroll. My experience includes filing quarterly payroll returns, sales tax, 1099’s, business-related returns, workers comp and general liability insurance audits. I’m also experienced with Quickbooks Online and Desktop, Lacerte and Sage 50.
Tell us about “Young Tiwanda” and what you are up to now.
I am a native of Dekalb county and grew up in the tiny town of Dowelltown, Tennessee. I lived there until I was twenty, when I married the love of my life, Wesley. After marrying, we moved to Watertown in Wilson County, Tennessee. We have happily lived there for the past twenty-five years.
I’m a “people person”. I strive to be easy going, loving, caring, and compassionate. I love to see people happy and having fun - because I love life! Wesley and I have two beautiful children Carl & Olivia, daughter-in-law Cara, and two granddaughter’s Jemma and Gracelynn.
When I am not at work, you can find me camping (or “glamping”) or at church or spending time with family and friends! I love those times!
