Why Accounting?

Prior to joining Janney & Associates, I worked in private industry for almost seventeen years in operations management along with many other duties and responsibilities.  My passion is business and education, so I’m very happy to be starting a new chapter at Janney & Associates, that will help utilize those same skills at the highest level.

I have an Associate degree from Motlow State Community College and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Middle Tennessee State University.   I also have a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Western Governors University.

What experience do you have?

During the years at my previous company, I learned accounting through the normal channels (accounts payable/receivable, payroll, quarterly and end-of-year taxes, etc.). This taught me the importance of accounting when it comes to monitoring and improving a business.   Also, I realize the importance of being able to communicate more complex “accounting” thoughts into day-to-day action.

Tell us about “Young Daniel” and what you are up to now.

I grew up in McMinnville, Tennessee and still live there with my wife and our pets. I also serve as a County Commissioner.  I truly enjoy the opportunity to make a difference in my community. I volunteer with McMinnville Young Professionals, Lucky Community Improvement Club, and Phi Theta Kappa Alumni Association. My wife, Dayron is a college professor at Motlow State in McMinnville and currently serves on the Warren County Chamber of Commerce and McMinnville Young Professionals Board of Directors among many other volunteer activities. We enjoy traveling, kayaking, golfing, and spending time with our family and friends.
